Hi there. My partner and I have created a womyns space called THE FEN SANCTUARY outside of Kalamazoo, MI near Grand Rapids, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Ohio, Indiana and anywhere else one might consider driving from. We have workshops going on through the month of June, a 10 day special retreat near the end of August and plans for events all through the year. I invite you to visit www.thefensanctuary.com and see what we're up to. Maybe you are someone who needs a place to hold a workshop. Maybe you need a place for R and R and no workshop. Maybe you know someone who would enjoy the Fen. Please write me with your thoughts and ideas.

hi gays and gals. I want to thank those of you who came to the Fen Opening for making it such a wonderful experience for me and Mary. From the appetizer opening, through the music on Friday night, through setting up for a 35 person dinner, on Saturday,not to mention the clean up and then the workshop on Sunday that was followed by a drumming circle and dinner and then amazing poetry/storywriting share by the firepit-- what could be a finer gift for my 55th birthday. Please remember that there's a potluck barbecue every Sunday and the first one is on Sunday June 2. Bring your drums and instruments!!! And the two other interesting things are that interest is starting for the workshop June 22,23,24, and there's only so many beds so if you have any interest please act on it. I like to offer a weeklong workshop every season and I'm considering offering a weeklong WET INK RETREAT beginning August 27th and going over labor day. Wet Ink is a term I use to describe the approach to our creative days. If you write, you will work on writing, if you paint, you will paint, if you take photographs, you will shoot photos all day. if you quilt,sing,play an instrument...you get the picture... All mediums are welcome and makes for a very wonderful and juicy time. And it is about time...because we don't give ourselves enough time to be the loving talents we are. You will have your own focus and there will be a group focus/installation which is often very beautiful. I would like all those interested to please respond to me by Aug. 1, bearing in mind that it might be full much sooner than that. We will offer tenting for that week as well.

I have started a writing/art/salon/r&r spot in Three Rivers, MI which is near Kalamazoo and between Chicago and Detroit and close to the Indiana border. My feeling is that women from various places can get here easier than trying to get to Saturna Island on the west coast of Canada. please consider coming and please let me know of any questions you might have by writing to thefen@ferrononline.com.
Putting this space together has been very exciting and we hope to see you all.
